Situated in the heart of Portland's bustling arts district, Port City Music Hall is a state-of-the-art music venue. Port City offers a modern, contemporary, and elegant location for private events, corporate functions, weddings, after-parties, and fundraisers. Event space is available on one, two, or three floors, depending on the scope of your function. Professional sound, lights and projection capabilities are also available.
The Space
The spacious three-story space, built as an Art Deco department store and then renovated as a movie theater, was completely redesigned and rebuilt as a performance venue in 2008. Port City Music Hall worked with local businesses, Portland architect Mark Sengelmann (ALPHAarchitects) and interior designer Joshua Bergey (Joshua Bergey Design Studios, Portland/Philadelphia) to create a comfortable yet elegant multi-use space. Special attention was paid to acoustic elements, and the venue's state-of-the-art sound system draws raves from the music industry professionals as well as PCMH audiences.
The central music hall can accommodate audiences of up to 550. Flexible seating arrangements can offer cabaret seating at small tables; seats in rows; or standing room and a large dance floor. A separate VIP area runs along the left side of the main hall, offering seating at four-top tables, waitress service, a private service bar, and unobstructed sightlines to the stage.
The venue features a plushly appointed Front Lounge with intimate groupings of couches and upholstered chairs. The lower level offers a lounge with pool tables and the capability for live video and sound feeds from the stage. The third floor of the venue contains the Port City Music Hall administrative and production offices, dressing rooms, and a spacious Green Room complete with separate dressing rooms, shower, and a rooftop deck. The front of the venue also features the Coleman Burke Gallery Portland, a storefront installation space that allows for the 24/7 viewing of site-specific art.
